Why can I see the best cattle crushes, sheep crushes and goat handling gear?

Field Days Drive Offsider Success

As the field day season kicks into gear, Offsider Ag Equipment is gearing up for one of its busiest—and most rewarding—times of the year. For the Offsiders, field days are as much about connecting with fellow producers, sharing knowledge, and helping people find practical solutions that genuinely improve their livestock handling, as showcasing products.

“Driving to field days all over the eastern states gives us firsthand understanding of how graziers are going. Talking to them face to face just makes sense.” David Hicks of Offsider Ag is always happy to get out on the road. “We travel between 50,000 and 60,000km a year from our home base of Killarney, Queensland to events in 5 states. If there is diesel in the bowsers, we will be on the road.”

Built by cattle producers, Offsider Ag Equipment was born out of a need for safer, more efficient handling systems on real Australian properties. “We know it only too well, when you’re limited by access, or by people power, or by physicality, you’ve got to have gear that bridges those limitations. That’s the equipment we design.”

The Offsider team are travelling across 5 states to field days far and wide. Having already been to the South East Field Days in Lucindale South Australia, next stop is AgFest in Tasmania. “They get closer to home after that, FarmFest, AgGrow, Mudgee Small Farms Field Days, Australian Sheep and Wool Show, Nyngan Ag Expo, SheepVention, AgQuip, WestTech, Henty Machinery Field Days, and finishing off with Australian National Field Days in Orange.”

Delivering effective technologies on-farm that are purely mechanical is Offsider Ag Equipment’s stock in trade and field days play a big part. “We have been fortunate enough to win several awards at field days across the country, for our handling products. New Release of the year at Wagin in W.A., runner up at Henty and a couple of Machine of the Year Awards at ANFD are amongst the most memorable.”

Farming and field days might seem incompatible, “We have worked on our joining times to work with both the season and field days,” David said. “It’s not a fool proof system, but it goes alright.”

With a focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, Offsider Agricultural Equipment designs and manufactures cutting-edge equipment to meet the evolving needs of farmers nationwide.
